Long Forgotten??

I decided to pack my shoe rack today and suddenly realized that I actually have quite a few pairs of BRAND NEW shoes, most of them are bought many many months/even years back.

I love the purple oxford but its really quite impossible to match with my outfits. The mustard + green peep toes look hideous to me now, what was I thinking then??!! All these are the results of impulse purchases...

E.L.F studio brushes RAWKS!!!

About a year ago, I bought some brushes from E.L.F's studio line and I have been loving their brushes ever since. They are so incredibly soft and most of all affordable. The design of their brushes are sleek modern and look way more expensive than they are meant to be...So this time round, I have ordered another batch of brushes. I was so excited when they arrived at my doorstep.

My top favourites are

Kabuki Face Brush
The softness of this brush is unbelieveable. The bristles are so dense and fluffy. This brush is AMAZING!! It feels like a high end brush.

Powder Brush
Actually this shouldn't be called powder brush, it should be called "wonder brush" , because it is so versatile. I use it to stipple and blend my liquid foundation.( A lot of people commented that its better than MAC 187. Mind you, mac 187 cost around SGD 80 plus, I am so totally turned off by the price.) This wonder brush can be used to apply powder, highligther and blusher as well.

"C" Brush
This brush is perfect for applying eyeshadow all over the eyelid and is SHEER PERFECTION for eye makeup blending. It picks up the color well and deposits well.

Generally, a lot of people may snubbed at E.L.F products, but personally, I feel that these brushes are really good and may even surpass some highend brands. If you are thinking of buying makeup brushes, do check out E.L.F Studio Line.

DOH!!

When I saw this Sephora's ad on their holiday palette, I tell myself that I MUST get it. On the box, it states that there are 180 colors and can give 50, 000 looks. It consist of 98 eyeshadow colors, 70 lip glosses, 6 cream liner, 3 blushes, 5 eye pencils. Wow!! To me it was such a good deal at $79.

DOH, I am so wrong!!! I feel so ripped off now. DO NOT BE DECEIVED by their vibrant colors. The eyeshadows are so chalky and not pigmented at all!! Most probably you got to dab the palette a thousand of time before the color starts appearing more prominent. The lipgloss, blushes and brushes are yucky...the quality of the products are just like for little girls' first cosmetic set. I am truly disappointed with Sephora.

Opps, I did it again!!

I think Watson has a spell on its stores where anyone who goes in, would not come out empty-handed. It's a curse to our wallets!!

Damage done for this week :

Rimmel-professional finish in 397 beige base, Kate-gel eye liner in BR 1, Rimmel-exaggreate eye definer in 211 sable and Kate-eye shadow in GD 1

I LOVE this Rimmel- 397 Beige Base nail color to the core. I think its a duped of OPI - Over the taupe. The purplish brown color is perfect for the autumn. The brush is ginormous, one stroke and that pretty much cover the whole nail. Plus , its only a fraction of OPI price. What is not to love??!!

I have been using Maybelline gel eyeliner for months, and I'm super frustrated with their black color as it harden pretty fast. The purple and brown color remain the same texture after opening but the black will turn into a gunk that I can't used. Hence, this time round I venture to Kate and it did not disappoint me. Kate's gel glides on more smoothly and its texture is very much lighter than Maybelline. Cross my fingers and hope it will not harden.

I have been trying out a few pencil liners but still yet to find one that I like. I have tried Bourjois Contour Clubbing , this is highly pigmented but it is not easy to sharpen as its tip keep breaking when I sharpen to a certain length. I have also tried Spring Heart, personally I think this is a waste of time. I have even tried over the counters brands like Shu uemura, *eek* have to go over many times before the line appears. So now I end up using Rimmel, its ok but it will smudge. *shrugs* Maybe, its my oily eyelids!!If you know a good pencil eye liner, do let me know.

Kate Dual Carat eyeshadow has been discontinued and been replaced by this Eye Shadow DB. I am starting to be a Kate fan as you can see my collection of their products is gradually expanding. This new eyeshadow is not too glittery or shimmery. In fact, I have 2 of these, one in GD-1 and another in BK-1.

Ok, I will not blame Watson entirely, coz I have a spending problem too. Remorsefully, I bought these as well..
Mac-paint pot in Rubenesque and 217 blending brush

Paint pot can double up as a eye primer and a cream base eye shadow. This color gives a copper-ish gold glow. As it can be a primer, the color last longer throughout the day. I will love Mac brushes if they are not so expensive. This is a much raved about 217 blending brush, the brush is very fine, soft and densely packed.

Poshe- Super Fast Drying Top Coat

This is my favourite top coat ever!!! Have you paint your nails at night before you go to sleep and the next day you find your freshly painted nails all ruined?? With this top coat, it will not happen. This top coat dries to the touch in 1 minute and completely dries through all layers in 5 minutes. It also has the highest gloss of any product in the market. It did not win so many awards for nothing.

EOS lip balm in Summer Fruit

The cute shape and color attracted me. Thank goodness for I heart this. I am always in search for a good lip balm as I have very sensitive lips. Most lip balms will make my lip even drier, chapped more and even itchy. With EOS, I do not have such problems. It is made with 95% organic ingredients and 100% natural.

Triplets

I bought this from Watson the other day.

Revlon- ColorStay 12 hour eye shadow in 10 berry bloom

I was happily storing my purchase away until I realised I have these!!

L to R: Visee -E5 palatte and Makemania Eyes Flasher in PC 4370

Minus the plum color from Revlon, they are almost identical. DOH!!Does this ever happen to you guys?

L to R: Relvon, Visse and Makemania

I tried the pink shades from all 3 differenet palattes, Revlon's has a chalky finished, Visse and Makemania both has almost similar shimmer. Out of the 3, I would say Visse is the most pigmented of the lot.

Since we are at eyeshadows, let me introduce you to *drums rolling*....Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

I have oily eyelids, so without this most of my eyeshadow color will be gone/smudged by 2 hours. I love this primer, it doesn't budge abit, eyeshadow will stay on even if you go gym.

I have "pimped" my iphone cover with swarovski crystals some time back. It is actually quite easy to do, just that it is extremely time consuming and daunting task. Once you start, try not to stop half way as it will disrupt the consistency.

You will need the followings:
  • a brand new plastic cover for the phone
  • epoxy glue ( * please purchase the 90minutes slow drying adhesive, as you can still adjust the position of the crystals)
  • 2 cocktail sticks
  • a small blob of blue tack
  • last but not least crystals, I can't really recall how much I have used. Maybe, Gazillion?? Coz after nearly 7hours of intense concentration, I did not bother to count. (by the way, these are Swarovski 202B Xillion Rose flat back in size 12 and 5)
First, prep your plastic cover by cleaning and stretching it. Make sure the surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease. Stretching the cover will ease fitting when the glue dries up.

Mix equal amount of resin and hardener, and spread evenly on the plastic cover sections by sections. Wait for the glue to turn tacky (ard 3mins or so) and you can begin placing the crystals one by one.

Technically, a crystal "picker" will ease the process of placing the crystals, but I have improvised a cocktail stick and a tiny blob of bluetack stuck to its tip. Surprisingly, it does the job wonderfully at the fraction of the price.

After all the crystals are in place, let it dry overnight. Next morning, fit you phone carefully into the cover and VIOLA!!!
